Youth of the Year

About the Youth of the Year Program

Youth of the Year (YOY) is a mentoring program through which BGC members are paired with volunteer mentors.   YOY helps high school students improve their public speaking and writing skills.   Each mentor works with their mentee on completing three essays and one (2) minute speech.

The 2024-2025 program will conclude on Friday, February 28, 2025, at our Great Futures Dinner: A Snowy Soiree.  Everyone is invited! your seat at this fundraiser and be our guests as finalists compete to become BGC Mercer's Youth of the Year.  The YOY serves as an ambassador for our Club and youth and exemplifies the impact Boys & Girls Clubs have in transforming lives.

All proceeds from this event provide youth with After School, College & Career Prep Programs, Tutoring, STEM, a safe place to belong, and more...
