STEM Confernce Volunteer
Our Teen STEM conference, held each November, is designed to teach our teens, as well as teens in the community, about STEM careers and activities. Volunteer to be a STEM presenter and lead a 45 minute workshop about a topic of your choosing related to your profession or company. Be prepared to answer questions about your company, your profession, and your educational background. Interested in presenting? Contact David Anderson, danderson@bgcmrcer.org
Career Launch Program Volunteer Speaker
Our Teen Program would love to have you as a guest speaker (currently remotely)! Speak to our teens about your job, company, career pathway, or the various steps you have taken to achieve your carer goals. Presentations should usually be 40-60 minutes in length, and generally should be given 3-6 pm. Interested in being a speaker? Contact Jermaine Jackson, jjackson@bgcmercer.org
Holiday Toy Drive
Organize a holiday toy drive to collect Christmas presents for children enrolled in our programs. Our yearly goal is to collect new presents for 1,400 children and teens in grades K-12.
To inquire about organizing a holiday toy drive, email rcoleman@bgcmercer.org
Bike Drive
Run a bike collection drive for the Boys & Girls Club Bike Exchange. Encourage people to donate bikes no longer in use. The Bike Exchange volunteers will recondition or refurbish and sell them. All the proceeds benefit the club. Help support recycling and the environmental while supporting your local BGC Club! To inquire about scheduling a bike drive with pick up, email info@BikeExchangeNJ.org
Book Drive
Organize a children's book drive. Collect gently used or new books and encourage others in your community to do so too. All books will be distributed to youth in our after school programs. To inquire about setting up a book drive, email zyazid@bgcmercer.org
School Supply/Backpack Drive
Our kids need supplies to go back to learning, and we welcome donations year-round to support our students at school and at the Club after school. The best time to donate would be from June through August/September. A back-to-school supply drive helps our kids come prepared to learn and lessens the financial burden on families.
You can provide us with just supplies, backpacks, or stuff the backpacks with supplies for specific grade levels. The flyer (click here) describes the types of supplies needed for various grade levels. To inquire about setting up a School Supply drive, email danderson@bgcmercer.org
Create a team, join the committee, help plan the event or become an event Sponsor! Have fun and network with community-minded peers and support The Club.
