After School Homework Helper
Assist students with daily homework Monday-Thursday. Take on the role of mentor/coach to students. Provide encouragement and guidance as students pursue their academic goals.

Reading for Success Volunteer
Read to our students. Have a teaching background? You can assist students with Language Arts and reading activities or assignments. Please commit to 3-4 visits per month.

Chess Club Volunteer
Work with students to develop their chess skills through playing games and coaching. The Chess club meets weekday afternoons 4-6 pm. We ask that you commit to 2-4 visits per month.

Youth of the Year Mentor
Work with a high school student to prepare him or her for our annual Youth of the Year Celebration. Help your mentee write an essay, prepare for an interview panel, and develop a 2 minute speech. We generally ask that mentors comitt to volunteering November-February, and to meeting with your mentee in person twice a month, and to exchange consistant emails with hom pr her. Public speaking and essay writing resources are provided to all participants.
