Youth and Adult Sports at BGC Mercer

 

We offer various athletic sports teams the opportunity to practice and play in our Centre and Spruce Street Clubhouses and in the community. Teams in our dedicated sports programs, as well as sports and athletic activities in our After School Programs, Teen Programs, and Camps allow Club kids to develop physical fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, leadership and social skills.

Soccer

Boys & Girls Leagues Available - Open to Kids Ages 4-18!

Fall Soccer League

  • Boys and Girls Clubs will hold a Fall Soccer League again. Our goal is to offer a complete recreational and developmental program for Trenton youth. This co-ed program is available to boys and girls 4-14 years old.

    Dates:  September 7 - November, 16, 2019

    Fee: $45/Member; $75/Non-Member

    Games will be on Saturday at Capital City Sports Complex

Winter Soccer League

  • The Winter indoor soccer program is open to boys and girls, ages 4-14 years old.This will be our 7th year for the league.  Each team will be given an 8-10 game season starting November 23. All games will be played on Saturdays at the Centre Street Clubhouse.

    Session I: November 23, 2019 - January 25, 2020  

  • Session II: Feb 8 - April 18, 2020

    Fee: $45 per member or $70 per non-member

Adult Indoor Soccer League

  • The Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County will offer Men's & Women's Indoor Soccer Leagues 6v6 all year round (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring). Team registrations are welcomed and encouraged. The Champions of each league will receive awards and prizes.

     

    Games are played on Sunday mornings at the Boys & Girls Clubs, 212 Centre St., Trenton, NJ 08611.

Karate

  • Karate- ATA Tigers (Ages 3 - 6) 
     
    Young kids can learn beginner to advanced karate with experienced and trained instructors from Princeton Martial Arts. The curriculum is based on positive mental attitude and high goal setting for all ages, fitness levels and abilities. Students learn kicks, strikes, sparring, forms, dodging, and blocking, ascending through a system of 11 belts.
     
    Monday 5:30 pm-6:00 pm
    Thursday 4:30 pm-5:00 pm
    Saturday 9:00 am-9:30 am
     
    Fee - Monthly:
    1 class per week -$59
    2 classes per week - $84
    Special offer: if you sign up for 2 classes per week by 08/15/2019, you will get a uniform for free!
     
    Karate Beginners (Ages 7-12)

Basketball

  • Basketball League (Co-ed Ages 4-13)

    This league, led by Tonya Grant-Brown, will help youth expand their skills and knowledge in the game of basketball through proven techniques and fundamental training. The first two weeks are all instructional, the remaining eight weeks include 15 minutes of instruction and 45 minutes games. All youth play equal playing

    time.

     

    Saturday 10:00 am – 11:00 am (4 to 6 years old)

                    11:00 am - Noon (7 to 9 years old)

                    Noon - 1:00 pm (10 to 13 years old)

     

    Fee: $80 for 8-week session  

    First Sessions:  September 14 to November 2, 2019 

    Second Session:  January 11 to February 29, 2020

  • Basketball Clinics (ages 4-13)

    This clinic lead by Tonya Grant-Brown will be helping youth expand their skills and knowledge in the game of basketball through proven techniques and fundamental training. This program will include introduction drills, team concept drills, and modified basketball games.

    Saturdays:

    10:00 AM – 11:30 AM (Ages 4-8)
    11:30 AM – 1:00 PM (Ages 9-13)
     

    Fee: $55 for 4-week session or $20 per day drop-in

    Session 1:  November 16 - December 14 (no clinic 11/23)

    Session 2:  March 14 to April 4, 2020

ANCHOR. Name: tennis

USTA Indoor Short Court Tennis

  • National Junior Tennis and Learning (ages 5-10)
    National Junior Tennis and Learning will teach tennis skills, drills and games utilizing the USTA short court program for youth 10 and under.

    Session: January 4, 2020 - March 28, 2020

    Saturdays:
    11:30 am – 12:30 pm (5 - 8 year olds)
    12:30 pm – 1:30 pm (9 - 10 year olds)

    Fee: $25 per month  (January 2020 to end of March 2020)
