Teen Enrichment Programs

Our goal is to provide high-quality enrichment programs for teens preparing them for college, careers and leadership roles. Clubs

Keystone Club

The Midas Keystone Club is the premier leadership and service club for high school students. The Club has annual service projects and student leadership opportunities. The Club meets weekly to plan social events, trips and service projects. The Club hosts and travels to local conferences. Membership in Keystone requires regular attendance, volunteer hours, work on projects, and fundraising to attend conferences and trips.

Tuesdays & Thursdays: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Fee: Free for Teen Gold members, with $5/month Keystone dues;
$150 Program Members (Annual Fee) with $5/month Keystone dues 

Project Alpha

A male mentoring program facilitated by the Zeta Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., works with teen males on strengthening character; career and college exploration and personal life skills. The group meets monthly for workshops as well as trips hosted by the fraternity to enhance personal and professional growth and development.

Every 2nd Tuesday of each month; 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Fee: Free for Teen Gold members
 

Cooking Club

Students will cook basic meals in our Kitchen Classroom, learning the fundamentals of making a quick and easy meal. From a basic sandwich to something simple in the oven, teens will be able to maneuver through the kitchen and make something tasty to eat. Guest Chefs will meet with students and give them extra tips and tricks in the kitchen. The session will end with a "Cook-Off" event to be held at the club. Additionally, visits will be scheduled to local cooking establishments.

Wednesdays: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM

Fee: Free for Teen Gold Members with $5/month Cooking Club dues;
$50 Program Member per 10-week session with $5/month Cooking Club dues 

Restaurant & Hospitality Club

Students will learn the fundamentals of making a quick and easy meal. Guest Chefs will come out and meet with students and give them extra tips and tricks in the kitchen. Additionally, visits will be scheduled to local companies.

Wednesdays: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Fee: $150 per 12-week session; free for Teen Gold members

STEM Club

STEM Club activities are guided by Mad Science, a leading science enrichment provider. The STEM Club will broaden scientific knowledge and thinking in a stimulating and entertaining way. The programs

- meet national, state and provincial science curriculum standards

- incorporate hands-on and inquiry-based methods

- employ trained, qualified and dynamic instructors-

- use specially-designed equipment and original materials

Last Thursday of each month: 4:00 – 5:00pm, Spruce Street

Teen Enrichment

QGrantFitness (Ages 13+)

Fitness Program for Teens and Adults 

QGrantfitness is a company that specializes in light, moderate, and high intensity workout sessions to help clients tone muscle, burn fat, and gain muscular endurance and strength. Its owner, Marquees Grant, is a fitness specialist with a Bachelor's of Science in Health and Physical Education, an ASFA certification in personal training, and an American Red Cross certification in adult and pediatric CPR and AED. Offers 60 minutes workout sessions of moderate to high intensity cardio to help tone muscle, burn fat, gain muscular endurance and strength.

Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 10:00am – 11:00 am
Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Fee: $30 per 60 minute session or $270 for 10 sessions

Jenuine Yoga (Ages 16+)

Yoga with Jen, led by Jennie Polone is an awesome experience geared towards raising ones awareness of mind, body and soul through the practice of Vinyasa Yoga and meditation. Jen brings a unique swagger to her classes by creating a dimly lit, judgment free zone for those new and seasoned to the practice of Yoga. Incorporating various genres of music like R&B, Reggae, Hip Hop and Soul to the flow of class; Yoga with Jen is designed to promote the release of tension and stress as well as increase flexibility and overall wellness. No experience needed.

Wednesdays and Thursdays: 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Fee: $10 per class or 6 classes for $55

American Red Cross

CPR, First Aid, AED Certification for Teens and Adults

Participants will become certified in CPR, First Aid and use of the AED machine. This will help them prepared if an emergency takes place with themselves or with someone else. Our certified instructor, from the Red Cross, will provide hands-on as well as visual/written training necessary for each student. Class sizes are limited to 12 students. Preregistration is required.

Certification for ages 16+: Participants will become certified and receive their 2-year certification card from the Red Cross.

Certification for ages 13 - 15: Students will become certified for 2 years however, due to their age, they will not receive the certification card but an official certificate from the Boys & Girls Clubs signed by the official Red Cross instructor confirming the certification.
