BGC Teen Enrichment Programs
Our goal is to provide high-quality enrichment programs for teens preparing them for college, careers and leadership roles.
Clubs and activities may change throughout the year and encompass a wide range of topics from Sports, STEM, Arts, Business, Career, healthy living, to leadership and character development. Please consult the brochure (Click Here) for a current listing of teen clubs and activities.

The Midas Keystone Club is the premier leadership and service club for high school students. The Club has annual service projects and student leadership opportunities. The Club meets weekly to plan social events, trips and service projects. The Club hosts and travels to local conferences. Membership in Keystone requires regular attendance, volunteer hours, work on projects, and fundraising to attend conferences and trips.
Tuesdays & Thursdays: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Fee: Free for Teen Gold members, with $5/month Keystone dues;
$150 Program Members (Annual Fee) with $5/month Keystone dues
A male mentoring program facilitated by the Zeta Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., works with teen males on strengthening character; career and college exploration and personal life skills. The group meets monthly for workshops as well as trips hosted by the fraternity to enhance personal and professional growth and development.
Every 2nd Tuesday of each month; 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Fee: Free for Teen Gold members
Students will cook basic meals in our Kitchen Classroom, learning the fundamentals of making a quick and easy meal. From a basic sandwich to something simple in the oven, teens will be able to maneuver through the kitchen and make something tasty to eat. Guest Chefs will meet with students and give them extra tips and tricks in the kitchen. The session will end with a "Cook-Off" event to be held at the club. Additionally, visits will be scheduled to local cooking establishments.

Restaurant & Hospitality Club
Students will learn the fundamentals of making a quick and easy meal. Guest Chefs will come out and meet with students and give them extra tips and tricks in the kitchen. Additionally, visits will be scheduled to local companies.
Wednesdays: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Fee: $150 per 12-week session; free for Teen Gold members
STEM Club activities are guided by Mad Science, a leading science enrichment provider. The STEM Club will broaden scientific knowledge and thinking in a stimulating and entertaining way. The programs
- meet national, state and provincial science curriculum standards
- incorporate hands-on and inquiry-based methods
- employ trained, qualified and dynamic instructors-
- use specially-designed equipment and original materials

Does your teen need help in mathematics? Do they need a better understanding of mathematical concepts in Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, or Calculus? Do they need help with the mathematical portion of the PSAT/ACT/SAT exam? They can come to the club for expert help and guidance to aid them in their quest for success. Additionally, utilizing College Board and Khan Academy tools, teens will work through an individualized SAT prep curriculum. The curriculum allows students to track progress towards weekly goals developed towards test dates. Curriculum includes practice tests and phone app for daily problems.

College Planning Made Easy
Do you know what you need to apply to college? Have you thought about the college you want to attend or if you want to attend a vocational school? Are you aware of the funding available for you to attend school or how to apply for scholarships? If these are questions that you want answered, this 12-week program is the class for you. Come out and learn all you need to know about preparing for and applying to college. The second part to this program is college essay writing which will help students write essays to help them get noticed when applying for college. There will also be a dedicated in-house person to work with students 3 days a week. Additionally, there will be college tours that will be taken throughout the course of the year to expose students to campus life and opportunities. Course is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors.

Presidential Volunteer Service Awards
The Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County is a certifying agency for this prestigious award. High School teens who volunteer through Club structured programs such as Keystone, Future CPA Academy and our various Internship programs will have their volunteer hours qualify for this award. This program is a great way to recognize teens for giving back to their community, and building their personal resume. Award levels for hours volunteered per year are:
Bronze Silver Gold Teens 14-15 years 50 75 100+ Teens 16-19 years 100 175 250+
Earn a Bike Volunteership
Area 7-10 graders can participate in a 24 hours volunteership to learn bike repair skills in the Clubs Bike Exchange at our Spruce Street Community Center. After completion they are eligible to select a bike worth up to $75 as a project repair bike to test their repair skills. Students who successfully complete this program are eligible to participate in the Club's Career Launch to work program at the Bike Exchange. Students who graduate from this program volunteer 6-9 hours per week at the Bike Exchange.
American Red Cross
CPR, First Aid, AED Certification for Teens and Adults
Participants will become certified in CPR, First Aid and use of the AED machine. This will help them prepared if an emergency takes place with themselves or with someone else. Our certified instructor, from the Red Cross, will provide hands-on as well as visual/written training necessary for each student. Class sizes are limited to 12 students. Preregistration is required.
Certification for ages 16+: Participants will become certified and receive their 2-year certification card from the Red Cross.
Certification for ages 13 - 15: Students will become certified for 2 years however, due to their age, they will not receive the certification card but an official certificate from the Boys & Girls Club signed by the official Red Cross instructor confirming the certification.
