Businesses and service organizations are needed to sponsor holiday parties for kids in our after-school programs. Parties are planned for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas and are held at the Boys & Girls Club and at our nine after-school program sites in Trenton. Volunteers are needed to support the parties by supplying holiday gifts and food, running games, organizing craft projects, and assisting with cooking. Financial contributions in lieu of in-kind support also are greatly appreciated.
Assist with our annual Labor Day block party which takes place in and in front of our building on Centre Street. Help is needed with running carnival games, sports, chalk art, face painting, and musical entertainment. Financial contributions are also needed to purchase prizes and food. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Labor Day (first Monday in September).
Host a tour of your workplace for teens. Provide a tour of your facility and talk to kids about what employees do in their jobs and how their career paths led them to their current work.
Accompany a group of Club teens on a college tour of your alma mater to inspire pursuit of higher education. Tours are organized and supervised by Boys & Girls Club staff members with groups of 20 to 40 teens. They are held on Saturdays, on school holidays, and in the summer. Participate in a social gathering following the tour. Colleges must be within a 90-minute drive from Trenton.
