School may be out in the summer but things are hopping at the Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County where Kids, Sports, Explorers, and Teen Travel Camps keep members active and learning.
Kids Camp - Ages 5 to 10 years
Campers swim, play sports, enjoy arts and crafts, work on computers, learn life skills, and participate in high yield learning activities to prevent summer learning loss. Each session goes on a weekly field trip.
Sports Camp - Ages 7 to 14 years
Each day campers participate in variety of sports. The mornings are devoted to skill instruction and scrimmages, and the afternoons involve games, activities and swimming. Field trips are taken throughout the summer.
Explorers – Ages 9 to 15 years
Campers participate in a variety of activities around boating, nature, hiking, biking and fishing. The camp utilizes a number of community parks and towpaths for moving from park to park each day. Bikes, boats and fishing gear included in the program. Swimming out of Cooper pool, and boating out of Ross Marina. Boating includes canoe, kayak, sail boats and jet skis. Weekly field trips as well.
Teen Travel - Ages 11 to 15 years
Teens enjoy a week full of trips along with community service projects, life skills training, team building, sports, public speaking, computer skills instruction, climbing wall, and fitness center. Among the planned trips this summer are to Great Adventure, the Jersey Shore, local colleges, and museums.
