School is officially out, but the fun and learning never stop at the Boys & Girls Club! With summer camp beginning on June 25, the Club has prepared an exciting summer for 500 campers geared towards preventing learning loss during the summer months. Campers enjoy tutoring sessions, games-based activities, art, drama, and other enrichment activities to keep them engaged in safe and fun activities.
With the help of iPod Touches donated by Novo Nordisk, Club kids will learn to speak with their hands as part of the American Sign Language program and focus on building literacy and math skill.
Tutoring is also available for Club kids throughout the summer to help improve on math and reading skills prior to the start of a new school year.
During teen camp, high school students will have the opportunity to take part in SAT prep courses to prepare for the upcoming school year and college applications.
The Art program led by program director, Nicole Sage, will allow campers the opportunity to try their hands at painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, and mosaics.
Club kids will also have the chance to audition and participate in this summer’s play “Annie,” a musical and dance performance production.
