The Boys & Girls Club of Trenton & Mercer County is delighted to honor David R. Breidinger, Comcast Senior Vice President of GovernmentAffairs, for his commitment to the Boys & Girls Club and service to the community.

Mr. Breidinger joined Comcast in 1980 and prior to taking on a division management role in 1994, he served as vice-president and general manager of Comcast Cable in Trenton, New Jersey.

It was during this period that he became interested in helping youths in need through his service to the Boys & Girls Club. Over the past 15 years, Dave skillfully led the Club through several lean years in which the Club’s future was uncertain to the present where he is taking on new challenges to meet growing demand with expansion. Dave served several terms as president of the board of directors and has remained on the board supporting his fellow board members, making him the "Biggest Kid in the Club."

In January 2010, Mr. Breidinger was instrumental in facilitating a national partnership between the Comcast Corporation, the Comcast Foundation, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Through this generous four-year agreement, Comcast is providing in-kind airtime and media assets to BGCA, and technology tools, resources, and programs to Boys & Girls Club members throughout the nation.

Digital Connectors, one of the tech programs offered at local Clubs, was delivered in Trenton to resounding success and produced the winner of a national award and scholarship.

During his 31-year career with Comcast, Mr. Breidinger has worked closely with senators and congressional delegations as well as state legislatures and governors’ offices. He has played an integral part in the company’s major acquisitions, including AT&T Broadband and most recently the NBC Universal merger. Dave oversees all government and regulatory issues for the corporation’s Northeast Division.

A multi-faceted community servant, Mr. Breidinger is a township committeeman for his voting district and is involved in numerous organizations including the Rotary Club of Trenton (past president and 30-year member), the Trenton Salvation Army Advisory Board, the St. Mary’s Medical Center Advisory Board, the Pearls S. Buck International Board, and the Bucks County Community College Foundation Board.

Dave is a long-serving board member of the Comcast Foundation and serves on the Comcast Political Action Committee (COMPAC) as a trustee.

His professional affiliations also include secretary of the board of the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN); board member of the Credit Counseling Center of Bucks County; president of the Maryland Delaware Cable Television Association; chairman of the New Jersey Cable Telecommunications Association; chairman of the Broadband Cable Association of Pennsylvania; and board member with the Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association. Dave also serves on the board of the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business & Industry.
