Prepare to be inspired as teen members describe their hopes for the future and what it means to them to belong to the Boys & Girls Club.
One of our nominees will be selected as the Youth of the Year, earn a college scholarship, and become eligible to compete in the New Jersey State Youth of the Year Program.
The Youth of the Year program promotes service to Club, community and family; academic success; strong moral character; life goals; poise and public speaking ability. The program consists of mentoring, essay writing and public speaking.

Alvin McRae, a Boys & Girls Club member since age 5, was selected as our 2013 Youth of the Year. Alvin exemplifies the path we recommend to all of our members: participate in Boys & Girls Club programs, do your best in school, and plan for the future. While a member of the Boys & Girls Club, Alvin participated in Phoenix Keystone, our leadership development program for teens; Digital Connectors, and the Poetry Club. Alvin currently attends Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa.
